The Farmville Chamber of Commerce recognized Hiks Fashions of New York as the Business of the Month for February on Thursday, February 18 at 12 Noon at the store. Sunita and Don Vasnani, owners of the store that carries a wide variety of men’s and women’s clothing, accessories and school uniforms, received a plaque.
“We believe that it is important to recognize outstanding long-term and new businesses alike,” said Lori Drake, the Executive Director of the Farmville Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, “and it’s especially important to honor those merchants who have helped to anchor Main Street over the years.”
According to Drake, Hiks Fashion opened in February of 1987 and has been an integral part of the downtown district and of Farmville for 34 years. “We were pleased to honor Hiks Fashions of New York as the Business of the Month for February for their ongoing support of and contributions to the town throughout the past three decades,” said Drake.
The presentation and comments at the event were made by Drake, and Phillip Irvin, the Chairman of the Farmville Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center Board of Directors. Hiks Fashions of New York is located at 3753 South Main Street in Farmville.
